To your left is a fully-equipped American kitchen with washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave and oven with grill. There is also a toaster, kettle, coffee machine and juicer.
The two double bedrooms are also on the left side of the apartment, both with spacious built-in wardrobes. The main bedroom has a Simmons double bed with interior sprung mattress and the second bedroom has two single beds. There is more storage space in the hall. There are two fold out mattress beds and the apartment can sleep six.
On the right hand side are two sets of French doors with original French shutters leading to the terrace for those wonderful meals outside in the Riviera air.
The other facilities include duvets, hairdryer, iron and board. UK mains adaptor, cards and games. Sheets and towels are provided.
This part of Nice was built in the thirties and is one of many Art Deco buildings in this district. It's close to the elegant Alsace-Lorraine Square, with its statues, tall trees and play areas. There are two local markets, one French and the other African and innumerable cafes and bakeries nearby.
Nice is lovely in low season. The weather is mild most of the year, as the area is protected by the Alps. The flat is equally near the main railway station and the sea. And situated between the station, main shops and the beach means you don't need a car - everywhere is just a stroll! Galeries La Fayette and designer stores are a 15 minute walk on the Avenue Jean Medecin.
Around the corner from the apartment (junction of Rue Rossini and Gambetta) the restaurant L'Occitanie serves great food at reasonable prices. Its increasingly popular so be sure to reserve your table.
The Old Town market is a must the flower market is open every day except Mondays when the antiques market takes over.
Don't forget the towns flower festival every February.
The nearby Rialto cinema (Rue Rivoli) shows films in English take note: the cheap night is every Monday.
For museum lovers, admission is free on the first Sunday of each month. Three or four-day passes are also available for seven of the city's largest museums.
If you need a car, there are various car hire companies around town. There's one we've used very near the railway station. And for parking, there are two public sites nearby or you can take your chance finding a meter.
The airport is a twenty-minute bus ride away. The cost is 4 Euros, which includes bus travel for the whole day. The bus stops at the Negresco hotel or the station - a ten minute walk to the flat - or if you have heavy luggage, you may prefer a taxi.
One of the best ways to see the Riviera is by train. Visit Monaco, Antibes or Villefranche or the Friday morning market in Ventimillia just across the border into Italy. You could also hop on the train to the lemon festival in nearby Menton in February or the Cannes film festival and Monaco Grand Prix in May.
The nearest ski resort is 60 km from Nice at GREOLIERES (1400 to 1800 m)
